Samsung Electronics Corporation, the world's largest flat screen TV maker, has developed the world's slimmest light emitting diode (LED) TV panel. The South Korean company said its new LED TV panel is only 3.9mm thick, about a third the size of its previously released model, but maintains the same level of high-definition quality. This 3.9mm thick by 40 inches Samsung LED TV panel has backlit LCD which features a 120Hz refresh and 5,000:1 contrast. LED TV’s are lighter and more power efficient than those with liquid crystal display (LCD), which are more widely available and less costly.
